Waterjet is the future of cutting. By using only high pressure water and an abrasive it can cut a wide variety of materials including copper, brass and aluminum, pre-hardened and mild steel, exotic materials such as titanium and inox, brittle materials such as stone, glass, ceramic and quartz, laminated materials, flammable materials, tire, wood , and hardox, all without any impact on the environment: the only residuals are the clean water and garnet abrasive that is biologically inert and can be disposed of with all other trash.
Waterjet cutting offers numerous advantages compared with other cutting techniques.
Compared to laser:
- Can be used with a much wider range of materials,
including reflective, conductive and very thick
materials
- No heat effected zones and thermal distortions
- The cut is very precise which eliminates the need
for machining
Compared to plasma:
-Can be used with a much wider range of materials
-No heat effected zones and thermal distortions
-No minimum material cutting width required
-Waterjet offers better precision in intricate parts
-Waterjet beam section is only 0,8-1 mm
Salona Var operates the full range of water jet cutting application, including the 3D cutting (5-axis).

We are one of the leading Croatian companies in the field of welding. Our engineers have more than 30 years of experience in reparative welding and weld surfacing in the field of construction machinery, pipelines, naval industry, cement industry, food industry, hydro-power plants, maritime and river ports.
We provide complete solutions to our customers from failure analysis to the development of welding technologies.
We offer expertise in different types of welding techniques, including MMA, TIG, MIG/MAG, EPP, and different semi-automatic and automatic welding processes. Our engineers have experience working with various types of metal and alloys such as aluminum, steel, nickel and bronze alloys, satellites, cast iron, hardox, and others.
Our main engineer is a member of the Croatian Welding Society.
On the photos below you can sees some examples of our work:
1. Marine winch welding
2. Cement tank welding
3. Welding of patches for RLE
4. Aluminum tanks welding and manufacturing
5. Aluminum crankcase welding
6. Excavator welding
such as gas with powder, gas with wire, electrical thermal spraying with wire, gas for ceramics, and carbides.
Our main engineer is one of the pioneers of thermal spraying in Croatia with more than 30 years of experience in it application in many industrial segments: carbide coating on the fans for cement transportation, galvanization of different ship parts in inaccessible places, thermal spraying of worn armbands of axles and shafts, crankshafts, electric motors housings, bearing housings, wheels for wire extraction, stepping area for slipping prevention, and plastic coating for the purpose of electrical
Thermal spraying is a coating process in which melted materials (alloys, carbides, ceramic, or plastics) are sprayed onto a surface. The "feedstock" (coating precursor) is heated by electrical (plasma or arc) or chemical means (combustion flame). A very high deposition rate is used which makes it much faster than classical coating processes such as weld surfacing. Furthermore, this exact speed of particles is used for gluing them onto the surface without significantly heating the basic material which, hence, does not suffer any chemical reaction (often a problem in other coating processes).
We perform different techniques of thermal spraying
insulation or against corrosion.
1.Thermal spraying of a 5t shaft (CEMEX)
2.Thermal spraying of a gear unit housing
3.Thermal spraying of a propeller shaft
4.Thermal spraying of a shaft
5.Thermal spraying of a crankshaft
6.Thermal spraying of TDM
7.Thermal spraying of a shaft gear (CEMEX)
1. Hard weld surfacing of a stone crusher up to 62
HRC
2. Automatic MIG/MAG and EPP weld surfacing of:
a. crane wheels
b. shafts and pistons
c. bronze
We operate a full range of approved welding procedures including welding deposits with Stainless Steel, Inconel 625, Incoloy 825, Aluminium Bronzes, Monel and Stellite.
Within our wide range of services we also offer machining of all weld surfaced parts.
